The Foundation has two distinct grant programs, awarding Board Grants and discretionary President’s Grants. The Foundation also supports educational innovators in medicine and nursing through its Macy Faculty Scholars program.

The Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation is dedicated to improving the health of the public by advancing the education and training of health professionals. Our grantmaking is focused primarily in five priority areas.

Grants are made only to tax-exempt institutions or agencies – no grants are made directly to individuals. The Foundation does not consider requests for general undesignated support, endowments, equipment, construction or renovation projects, capital campaigns and activities conducted outside the United States and its territories.
